1666: Amsterdam Gets New Gameplay Trailer at Galaxies Showcase

Panache Digital Games has released a new gameplay trailer for 1666: Amsterdam during the Galaxies Autumn Showcase 2026, offering another look at the supernatural action-adventure game led by Assassin's Creed creator Patrice Désilets.

Set in a dark interpretation of 17th-century Amsterdam, the game follows Noa Brooklyn, a member of the Zaindaris tasked with hunting mysterious entities known as the Originals. These powerful beings have secretly lived among humans for centuries.

The gameplay combines exploration, investigation, and supernatural combat. During the day, players search the city for clues to uncover the identities of hidden enemies. At night, they confront these creatures using magical abilities and combat techniques.

Another major feature is the ability to switch between two playable characters. Noa uses witchcraft and supernatural powers, while Aaron, a man transported from 1999 into the body of a cat, provides a different approach to exploration.

Players must use both characters' abilities to investigate locations, discover hidden routes, and solve environmental puzzles.

Originally conceived more than a decade ago, 1666: Amsterdam has undergone a lengthy development process before returning under Panache Digital Games.

According to the developer's official website, the game entered Early Access on August 25, 2026, for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The studio plans to expand the experience with additional content and improvements based on player feedback.

Console versions are planned for a later date, although a final release window has not been confirmed.
