Alan Wake 2 Update Adds AMD FSR 4.1 and Fixes HDR Issues
Remedy Entertainment has released a new Alan Wake 2 update on October 21, 2026, introducing AMD FSR 4.1 support on PC and fixing an HDR display issue across supported platforms.
The update is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, focusing on graphics improvements rather than new gameplay features or story content.
According to the official Alan Wake 2 announcement on X, the latest patch upgrades AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution support to FSR 4.1 on PC, offering an updated image upscaling solution for compatible hardware.
FSR technology renders games at a lower internal resolution before reconstructing the image at a higher output resolution. This approach can improve performance while maintaining image quality, although actual results depend on the graphics card and selected settings.
The update also fixes an issue that prevented the HDR toggle from appearing correctly on compatible displays. This correction allows players to access the intended HDR setting when using supported monitors or televisions.
Remedy confirmed the following version numbers for the update:
- PlayStation 5: 1.200.011
- Xbox Series X|S: 1.2.0.11
- PC: 1.2.11
The patch does not introduce additional missions, weapons, or other major gameplay content.
Alan Wake 2 previously received FSR 4 and FSR Frame Generation support in August 2026. The latest release updates the existing upscaling implementation rather than introducing frame generation for the first time.
Remedy has not published specific performance benchmarks for FSR 4.1 in Alan Wake 2, so any improvements in frame rates or image quality will require further testing.
