ARC Raiders Player Claims Support Uses ChatGPT for Replies
An ARC Raiders player has accused Embark Studios' customer support team of using ChatGPT to generate responses after allegedly receiving messages intended for several other players.
The incident gained attention on October 22, 2026, when Reddit user a1vmp1 shared screenshots of a support conversation containing what appeared to be AI prompts and generated replies.
In the original Reddit post, the player claimed that ARC Raiders support accidentally sent multiple messages belonging to other customer conversations.
Some screenshots reportedly showed instructions such as "Create a short response" and requests for screenshots of players' skill trees.
Several messages also included the text "ChatGPT said: Writing," suggesting that an AI chatbot may have been used to prepare support replies.
The player explained that their original complaint involved losing an entire equipment loadout approximately 20 seconds after spawning because of an alleged gameplay issue.
According to the screenshots, the support response apologized for the lost equipment but stated that the items could not be restored.
The Reddit post attracted considerable attention, with players questioning the transparency and reliability of AI-assisted customer support.
However, the screenshots have not been independently authenticated, and the circumstances surrounding the apparent messaging error remain unclear.
Embark Studios has not publicly confirmed whether its customer support representatives use ChatGPT to generate responses.
There is also no verified evidence that sensitive personal information was exposed during the incident.
The allegations have renewed discussions about the use of generative AI in gaming customer support, particularly when players expect direct assistance from human representatives.
