Arc System Works Announces New Takumi Studio in Tokyo

Arc System Works has announced plans to open a new development studio in Tokyo, Japan, as part of its efforts to expand game production and strengthen its international presence.

The new facility, officially named Arc System Works Tokyo Studio Takumi, is scheduled to open on November 2, 2026, in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo.

According to the company's official announcement, Takumi will focus on increasing development capabilities across Arc System Works, beginning with a new fighting game supported by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

The upcoming fighting game was selected for the government's IP360 initiative, which provides strategic support for Japanese entertainment projects. The broader program aims to help increase overseas sales of Japanese content to 20 trillion yen by 2033.

Arc System Works has not revealed the title, gameplay details, platforms, or release window for the new fighting game.

Beyond game development, Takumi is expected to serve as an international collaboration hub, supporting partnerships and helping the company expand its activities in global markets.

The studio will operate from the Urban Center Shinjuku building, located at 2-5-10 Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Arc System Works is also expanding recruitment efforts, seeking developers and creative professionals to join the studio as founding members.

The announcement marks another expansion for the Japanese developer, best known for fighting game franchises such as Guilty Gear and BlazBlue.
