Bayonetta 2 PC Port Released With 4K and 120 FPS Support
An unofficial Bayonetta 2 PC port is now available through a community project called B2recomp, allowing players to run the Nintendo Switch version natively on Windows without relying on traditional console emulation.
Developed by K0NL, the project uses static recompilation to convert the game's original code into a Windows-compatible application. It also uses Vulkan for graphics rendering and requires players to provide their own legally dumped copy of Bayonetta 2.
According to the developer's official B2recomp GitHub repository, the unofficial PC port supports resolution scaling up to 4K, multiple display modes, and an experimental 120 FPS option.
The standard 60 FPS mode preserves the game's original timing, while the higher frame rate option remains in beta and may cause certain visual effects or menus to behave unexpectedly.
Players can use Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch controllers, alongside customizable keyboard and mouse controls. The launcher also supports compatible texture, model, audio, and code modifications originally created for the Switch version.
The developer has confirmed that the title screen, prologue, and early portions of Chapter 1 are functional. However, later chapters are still being tested, and players should expect bugs or compatibility issues.
B2recomp currently targets Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems with Vulkan 1.3-compatible graphics hardware. A Linux version is also undergoing testing.
The project is available through its official GitHub page, which provides the source code and building tools rather than a complete copy of the game.
This is an independent fan-made project and is not affiliated with Nintendo, PlatinumGames, or SEGA.
