Ben Affleck Says He Spent Three Years Playing StarCraft

Hollywood actor Ben Affleck has revealed that he spent three years playing StarCraft at home after becoming famous, describing the strategy game as one of his biggest gaming obsessions.

During an appearance on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Oscar-winning actor discussed his longtime interest in video games and how his gaming habits have changed over the years.

According to GamesRadar, Affleck became particularly attached to Blizzard Entertainment's classic real-time strategy game during the early years of his Hollywood career.

He explained that instead of spending his newfound fame attending parties and social events, he preferred staying home and playing StarCraft.

Affleck's interest in gaming has continued into recent years, although his experiences with modern multiplayer games have been considerably different.

The actor revealed that he now plays Valorant, where he frequently struggles against much younger players. He jokingly described the experience of being defeated and insulted by 11-year-olds as humiliating.

His competitive struggles also extend to NBA 2K, which he regularly plays with his teenage son. According to Affleck, his son frequently wins their matches and enjoys teasing him afterward.

Affleck has previously spoken about enjoying classic games such as Doom, Civilization, and Myst, showing that his interest in gaming extends across several genres.
