Bloodborne PC Port Gets DLSS 5 With RTX 3070 Laptop Test
An unofficial Bloodborne PC port has received an experimental DLSS 5 Neural Rendering integration, with an early performance report showing up to 47 FPS on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
The modification was published on October 23 by developer HiepDangThe, who released a DLSS 5 setup guide on Nexus Mods for the community-developed Lantern Engine project.
Created by Awakenchan, Lantern Engine runs Bloodborne's game code natively on PC while translating its graphics operations through Vulkan. The project builds on earlier efforts to bring the PlayStation 4 exclusive to Windows.
The DLSS 5 modification uses NVIDIA's Neural Rendering technology to enhance the game's visual output. Its installation requires a compatible RTX GPU, the modified engine build, and a separate nvngx_dlssnr.dll library.
According to a performance report accompanying the release, an RTX 3070 Laptop GPU with 8GB of VRAM delivered approximately 45–47 FPS in outdoor gameplay, with frame times ranging from 21.4 to 22.4 milliseconds.
These figures represent a reported test rather than an independently verified benchmark. Performance may differ depending on hardware, rendering settings, and the version of the neural rendering model.
The modification is separate from DLSS Frame Generation, which creates additional displayed frames rather than applying neural rendering to existing images.
Awakenchan's official Lantern Engine repository provides the underlying open-source project, but does not distribute copyrighted game files. Players need their own legally obtained Bloodborne game data.
Neither Sony nor FromSoftware is involved in this unofficial PC development effort.
