Brawl Online Adds GameCube Rollback and MP4 Replay Export
Brawl Online has announced another round of improvements to its unofficial Nintendo Wii multiplayer platform, including GameCube compatibility, MP4 replay exports, reduced input latency, and more than 80 bug fixes.
The developers outlined the changes in an official October 2026 post on X, describing improvements introduced since an earlier announcement.
One of the biggest additions is support for GameCube games, including rollback netcode. The team describes this as full GameCube compatibility, expanding the project's scope beyond its existing Wii and Project+ multiplayer features.
Brawl Online also now offers direct MP4 exports for match replays and combos, according to the announcement. This gives players a way to produce shareable video clips without relying entirely on separate screen-recording software.
Another improvement reduces input latency by one frame. The developers present this as a general optimization, although independent latency measurements have not been published in the sources reviewed.
The update also includes dozens of quality-of-life changes and fixes for more than 80 bugs. The announcement does not provide a complete breakdown of those fixes.
Brawl Online originally grew from Brawlback and uses Dolphin-based technology to provide rollback networking, online lobbies, ranked matches, and live spectating.
The official Brawl Online website confirms Windows, macOS, and Linux support, alongside the requirement for players to supply their own game copies.
GameCube compatibility, MP4 exporting, and the reported latency reduction are developer-announced improvements rather than features independently tested for this article.
