Crash of the Titans PC Port Adds 4K, DLSS and Unlocked FPS
Crash of the Titans has received an unofficial native PC port, bringing the Xbox 360 version of Radical Entertainment's 2007 platformer to Windows with 4K resolution, unlocked frame rates, and modern graphics technologies.
Developed by VitoMiguelF, the project is called CrashRecomp and uses static recompilation to convert the game's original PowerPC code into x86-64 instructions, allowing it to run without traditional Xbox 360 emulation.
According to the official CrashRecomp GitHub repository, players can select 30, 60, or 120 FPS limits, alongside an unlimited frame rate option. Actual performance depends on the hardware.
The port supports NVIDIA DLSS and DLAA, AMD FSR 3.1 upscaling, and resolutions up to 4K. Additional settings include anti-aliasing, texture filtering, motion blur, and adjustable shadows.
CrashRecomp also introduces a lighting remaster with ambient occlusion, indirect lighting, and improved shadows. An optional 4.5GB HD texture pack uses AI-upscaled assets and enhanced character models.
Other improvements include full mouse and keyboard support, Xbox and DualSense controllers, two-player local co-op, subtitles, and skippable cutscenes.
Modding tools allow users to extract and modify textures, models, audio, and other game assets.
The project currently targets Windows 10 and Windows 11, with Linux and Steam Deck compatibility still being explored.
Players must provide files from their own legally obtained Xbox 360 copy, as the project does not distribute the original game.
CrashRecomp remains an unofficial fan project with no affiliation with Activision or Radical Entertainment.
