Cyberpunk 2077 Tops 110,000 Steam Players After Update 2.5
Cyberpunk 2077 has reportedly climbed above 110,000 concurrent players on Steam following the arrival of Update 2.5 and the second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, bringing renewed attention to CD Projekt RED's open-world RPG.
One live player-tracking service recorded a peak of 111,354 simultaneous users on October 23, 2026. However, other trackers displayed lower readings, meaning the precise peak and claims of a three-year record require further confirmation.
The increase follows the October 22 release of the Edgerunners 2 Update, which introduces new content connected to the Netflix anime.
According to CD Projekt RED's official patch notes, the update adds a new side quest called Clampdown, a five-piece equipment set inspired by the character King, and the HKGN 102.0 FM radio station.
The update launched on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch 2 release scheduled to follow.
The renewed interest also coincides with the arrival of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on Netflix, although there is no verified breakdown showing how much of the player increase came from the anime, the update, or other factors.
Cyberpunk 2077 previously experienced a major resurgence in September 2023 following the release of Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0.
Its latest reported Steam activity remains well below the game's all-time concurrent player record of more than one million, achieved at launch in December 2020.
The new figures nevertheless suggest substantial renewed interest in Night City nearly six years after the game's original release.
