Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Adds Dual Wielding and Cyberware Customization

 

CD Projekt Red has officially announced Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, a free content update arriving on October 22, 2026, with new combat options, cyberware customization, and content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.

According to the official Cyberpunk 2077 announcement, the update will introduce a new dual-wielding playstyle, allowing players to use two weapons simultaneously.

Cyberware customization is another confirmed addition, although CD Projekt Red has not yet explained the full range of available options or how they will affect gameplay.

The update is also connected to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the new animated series developed by CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, which premiered on Netflix on October 20.

As confirmed in the publisher's official press release, the second anime installment features ten episodes and follows an entirely new cast of characters.

Update 2.5 will include content inspired by the series, although the studio is keeping specific details under wraps until its upcoming presentation.

CD Projekt Red will showcase the update during a special REDstreams broadcast on October 21 at 5 PM CEST. The livestream will be available on the company's official YouTube, Twitch, and Steam channels.

Players can watch the presentation through the official YouTube livestream, with detailed patch notes expected to follow the broadcast.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 22, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version will receive the update shortly afterward.

The announcement marks another major content addition to Night City, despite CD Projekt Red previously shifting much of its development focus toward future projects.
