Denuvo Cracker voices38 Reportedly Changes Username After Court Order

The online identity known as voices38, associated with bypassing Denuvo protection in PC games, has reportedly disappeared from Reddit following a US court decision allowing the company to seek identifying account information.

According to an October 21 report, the original Reddit account was deleted, while a similar username, v0ices38, appeared on a gaming forum. The new spelling replaces the letter “o” with the number zero.

The reported account changes follow a legal development in Denuvo's ongoing lawsuit against the unidentified individual.

On October 16, the US District Court for the Northern District of California approved a request allowing Denuvo to issue limited subpoenas to Reddit, Discord, and Valve.

The official court order in Denuvo GmbH v. Voices38 confirms that the requests are intended to obtain information needed to identify the defendant and serve the lawsuit.

Denuvo previously accused voices38 of circumventing its anti-tamper technology in multiple PC games. Those allegations remain part of an ongoing legal case rather than findings of guilt.

The court initially raised concerns about the scope of the requested user information. Denuvo subsequently narrowed its demands, and the revised requests received approval.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the v0ices38 username is associated with an existing forum account whose earlier posts remain visible. A similarly named Reddit account also reportedly appeared on October 21.

However, the identity of the person controlling these accounts has not been independently established, and there is no confirmed evidence that the username changes were intended to interfere with the legal process.

The court's decision permits Denuvo to request identifying records, but it does not establish that the company has obtained them or discovered the defendant's real identity.
