Fallout 3 Remake With RTX Remix Shows New Gameplay Footage

A Fallout 3 fan project using the Fallout: New Vegas engine has received a new gameplay demonstration showcasing major visual improvements through NVIDIA RTX Remix, Ray Reconstruction, and neural rendering technology.

The project builds upon Tale of Two Wastelands, a popular mod that combines Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas into a single experience, allowing players to explore both games while benefiting from New Vegas' updated gameplay systems.

In an original Reddit post, the modder explained that they have spent several weeks integrating RTX Remix with Tale of Two Wastelands, using the Nuclear Sunset mod collection as the project's foundation.

The developer also shared a gameplay video on YouTube, demonstrating the visual changes in the Capital Wasteland.

The footage highlights improvements to environmental lighting, reflections, shadows, and the overall appearance of familiar Fallout 3 locations.

NVIDIA's Ray Reconstruction technology is being used alongside neural rendering techniques to enhance image quality, although the integration remains experimental.

According to the developer, some rendering problems still need to be addressed, and performance requires further optimization.

The project is not a standalone remake of Fallout 3. Instead, it combines existing community modifications and rendering technologies to modernize the experience within the New Vegas engine.

There is currently no confirmed release date for this specific RTX Remix configuration, and the demonstration should not be considered evidence of a finished public version.

Nevertheless, the new footage offers an early look at how modern graphics technologies could transform Fallout 3's aging visuals without an official remake from Bethesda.
