FIFAe Finals 2026 Postponed in Saudi Arabia After Attacks

The FIFAe Finals 2026 have been postponed following recent security incidents in Saudi Arabia. FIFA and the Saudi Esports Federation confirmed that the international esports tournament will no longer take place on its originally scheduled dates.

The competition was set to run from October 16 to October 25 in Jeddah, bringing together national esports teams for one of FIFA's major competitive gaming events.

According to Reuters, organizers made the decision after reviewing regional developments and the logistical challenges involved in hosting the tournament.

The announcement follows a deadly attack on Riyadh's international airport, which raised concerns about security and travel arrangements for international participants.

Japan and Brazil had already withdrawn their esports teams before the postponement was announced, citing concerns about the situation in the host country.

FIFA and the Saudi Esports Federation have not confirmed a replacement date for the FIFAe Finals 2026. Organizers said further information about the tournament would be shared when available.

The postponement comes as other major sporting events in Saudi Arabia face scheduling uncertainty. The Six Kings Slam tennis exhibition has also been moved from October to December.

For esports fans and participating teams, the immediate question is when the FIFAe Finals will return and whether the tournament will retain its original format and host city.

Until a new schedule is announced, the FIFAe Finals 2026 remain postponed rather than permanently canceled.
