Ghost of Yōtei Sales Reach 5.4 Million Copies, Analyst Estimates

Ghost of Yōtei has reportedly sold approximately 5.4 million copies worldwide, generating an estimated $407 million in gross revenue since its PlayStation 5 launch in October 2025.

According to Alinea Analytics' latest report, published on October 16, 2026, physical editions account for 36.8% of total sales, while digital purchases represent the remaining 63.2%.

The Sucker Punch Productions title sold another 500,000 copies during the third quarter of 2026, generating nearly $30 million in additional revenue.

Despite receiving only two limited PlayStation Store discounts, Ghost of Yōtei has maintained steady sales throughout the year.

The game's October 1 content update also contributed to renewed player activity. Sony introduced the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and the Most Wanted mode alongside a new Complete Edition priced at $69.99.

Existing owners can upgrade for $14.99, while the new edition has already sold nearly 50,000 digital copies, generating more than $2 million.

Alinea Analytics estimates that daily active players increased from approximately 150,000 before the update to a peak of 327,000 afterward.

The report also compared Ghost of Yōtei with its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima. At comparable points after release, Tsushima had generated approximately $418 million and sold nearly seven million copies.

Although Ghost of Yōtei has sold fewer copies, its higher selling price has helped narrow the revenue gap.

These figures are independent estimates from Alinea Analytics and have not been officially confirmed by Sony.
