God of War III Remastered Reportedly Runs on Xbox Series X|S

God of War III Remastered, one of Sony's most recognizable PlayStation exclusives, has reportedly been demonstrated running on Microsoft's Xbox Series X|S consoles through an unofficial software project.

Content creator DevranCosmoUenal shared footage claiming to show the PlayStation title operating on Xbox hardware, drawing attention from the homebrew and game preservation communities.

The demonstration, referenced through the creator's Instagram video, reportedly uses Xbox Developer Mode, which allows developers and enthusiasts to test compatible applications outside the console's normal retail environment.

The creator also suggested that a dedicated Xbox launcher could become available in the future, potentially simplifying the process of running unofficial software on the platform.

However, the footage has not been independently verified, and important technical details remain unclear. These include the software used to run the game, compatibility differences between Xbox Series X and Series S, and whether the entire campaign is playable.

God of War III Remastered was originally released for PlayStation 4 in 2015, bringing an enhanced version of Santa Monica Studio's action game to Sony's previous-generation console.

The game has also attracted attention from PC developers working on unofficial native ports. One such project is publicly documented on GitHub, although that Windows implementation should not be confused with a confirmed Xbox release.

The reported demonstration follows other experiments involving PlayStation games on Xbox Developer Mode, highlighting growing interest in cross-platform compatibility projects.

Sony has not announced an official Xbox version of God of War III Remastered, and the reported demonstration does not establish that a public, fully functional Xbox port is available.
