God of War III Remastered Runs on Xbox Series X at 45 FPS
God of War III Remastered, originally released for PlayStation 4, has reportedly been demonstrated running on Xbox Series X through an unofficial PlayStation 4 emulator, reaching approximately 45 frames per second.
According to a report published by GameGPU, the demonstration uses a modified version of the shadPS4 emulator adapted for Microsoft's Universal Windows Platform (UWP).
The software reportedly operates through the Xbox Series X Developer Mode, allowing the console to run the experimental application without physical hardware modifications.
Footage described in the report shows Kratos fighting enemies during the opening sequence of God of War III Remastered, including scenes set on the Titan Gaia.
Performance reportedly fluctuates between 30 and 45 FPS during combat, falling short of the original remaster's 60 FPS target. The demonstration is also said to use a 1080p rendering resolution.
The reported performance drops occur during demanding visual effects and shader compilation, while Xbox controller inputs and audio appear to function during the tested sections.
However, the experiment remains an early technical demonstration rather than evidence that the entire game is playable on Xbox Series X.
The development follows recent improvements to the shadPS4 emulation project, which has made progress running PlayStation 4 games on PC.
Although the demonstration suggests that Xbox Series X hardware can support experimental PS4 emulation, further optimization would be required to achieve more consistent performance.
God of War III Remastered remains a PlayStation title, and Sony has not announced an official Xbox release.
