Gran Turismo 7 PC Port Runs at 25 FPS With KyTyPS5 Emulator

Gran Turismo 7 is now running on PC through an unofficial PlayStation 5 emulator, with a new gameplay demonstration showing the racing game reaching up to 25 FPS using a modified version of KyTyPS5.

YouTube creator Unreal Gaming PC tested the game on a system equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card, and 64GB of RAM.

The demonstration reportedly shows Gran Turismo 7 running between 17 and 25 FPS, offering an early look at how the PlayStation-exclusive racing game performs through PS5 emulation.

The test uses a custom KyTyPS5 build developed by usa-ratt, identified as d5bb89e and released on October 19, 2026.

According to the developer's official GitHub release notes, the updated build addresses several performance and stability issues affecting Gran Turismo 7.

One major improvement involves track loading. Previously, entering unexplored sections of a circuit could cause lengthy freezes, sometimes lasting more than a minute.

The new build also moves shader compilation into the background, reducing interruptions when loading new visual effects, including vehicle reflections.

Additional changes include fixes for graphical artifacts, increased memory availability for demanding races, and an optional setting that updates reflections every other frame to improve performance.

Despite these improvements, Gran Turismo 7 remains far from a consistently smooth experience on PC through KyTyPS5. The reported 17–25 FPS performance was recorded using high-end hardware, and the emulator still has known compatibility limitations.

The developer also warns that visual elements may appear late when exploring a new circuit for the first time, while occasional loading issues can still occur.

This is an unofficial emulation project rather than an official Gran Turismo 7 PC release from Sony or Polyphony Digital.

The latest demonstration nevertheless highlights ongoing progress in PS5 emulation, particularly in running complex racing games on Windows.
