Gran Turismo 7 Runs on PC at 17–25 FPS Using KytyPS5

Gran Turismo 7 has reached actual gameplay on PC through an experimental build of the PlayStation 5 emulator KytyPS5, with a new demonstration showing the racing game running at approximately 17–25 FPS on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080.

The footage, published by Unreal Gaming PC, shows the game moving beyond its menus into an active race. The test system reportedly uses an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and 64GB of RAM.

The gameplay demonstration on YouTube highlights progress in PS5 emulation, although performance remains far below what players would expect from a finished PC release.

Development is taking place through a dedicated KytyPS5 fork maintained by usa-ratt, which contains changes specifically targeting Gran Turismo 7 compatibility.

The project's October 21 releases document fixes for rendering problems, shader compilation, and crashes. One update addresses freezes after license tests, while another improves race performance by approximately 1–2 FPS in the developer's RTX 5090 testing.

However, the results vary considerably between configurations. The developer reports roughly 20 FPS during races against AI opponents on an RTX 5090, with higher frame rates possible in time trials.

Several issues remain unresolved, including missing music, graphical artifacts, occasional crashes, and incorrectly rendered interface elements. Ray tracing mode is also not recommended.

Gran Turismo 7 is therefore not fully playable from beginning to end through KytyPS5. The demonstration represents an experimental emulation milestone rather than an official PC port.

Players testing the emulator must provide legally obtained game files and should expect significant compatibility limitations.
