GTA 6 on Xbox Series S: FSR 4.1 and 1080p Claims Unconfirmed
Grand Theft Auto VI is officially coming to Xbox Series S, but recent claims that AMD FSR 4.1 will allow the console to run the game at 1080p and 30 FPS remain unverified.
A report published on October 23 suggested that Rockstar Games could use AMD's latest upscaling technology to compensate for the Series S's limited graphics hardware, potentially rendering the game below 720p before reconstructing the image at 1080p.
However, neither Rockstar nor Microsoft has confirmed these technical targets.
According to Rockstar Games' official announcement, GTA 6 will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company has not published platform-specific resolution targets, frame-rate modes, or details about the game's upscaling implementation.
AMD recently introduced expanded support for FSR Upscaling 4.1, including Radeon RX 6000-series graphics cards and selected Ryzen processors.
Nevertheless, the company's official FSR documentation does not establish compatibility between FSR 4.1 and the Xbox Series S version of GTA 6.
Upscaling could help improve image quality when rendering at lower resolutions, but it cannot independently guarantee a stable 30 FPS. Performance also depends on CPU workloads, memory limitations, graphics settings, and Rockstar's optimization.
Other reported details, including reduced traffic density, specific loading times, and graphical compromises, have not been independently confirmed.
The Xbox Series S version of GTA 6 is confirmed, but its actual resolution, performance, and use of FSR 4.1 remain unknown ahead of release.
