GTA 6 Online Reportedly Planned for 2027 Release

Rockstar Games is reportedly planning to launch Grand Theft Auto VI's online multiplayer component in 2027, several months after the main game's release.

According to a new Bloomberg investigation by Jason Schreier, the multiplayer experience is expected to arrive next year, although Rockstar has not officially announced a release window.

The reported schedule suggests that players could initially experience GTA 6's single-player campaign before the online component becomes available.

However, the exact launch month remains unknown, and Rockstar has yet to reveal how the new multiplayer experience will operate.

The company has also not confirmed whether GTA 6's online component will be integrated into the main game or offered as a separate experience similar to the standalone version of GTA Online.

The possibility of a 2027 release was previously raised by Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, who discussed Rockstar's multiplayer plans during a September interview with Bloomberg.

Clancy suggested that the launch of GTA 6's multiplayer component could generate another significant increase in gaming activity on Twitch during 2027.

For now, Rockstar remains focused on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI, with further details about its online features expected at a later date.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
