GTA 6 Pre-Orders Top 6 Million, Near $600 Million in Revenue

GTA 6 pre-orders have reportedly surpassed six million copies, generating nearly $600 million in estimated revenue ahead of the game's November 2026 release.

According to market intelligence firm Sensor Tower, Grand Theft Auto VI reached approximately 6.08 million digital pre-orders across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as of October 13, with estimated revenue totaling $594 million.

PlayStation accounts for the majority of those purchases, with approximately 4.51 million pre-orders worth $441 million. Xbox Series X|S follows with an estimated 1.57 million copies and $153 million in revenue.

These figures give PlayStation roughly 74% of the tracked pre-order market, compared with 26% for Xbox.

The estimates highlight strong demand for Rockstar Games' upcoming open-world title, particularly among players purchasing digital editions before launch.

GTA 6 pre-orders officially opened on June 25, 2026, with the Standard Edition priced at $79.99 in the United States. Premium editions have also attracted attention, although the latest figures do not establish a confirmed breakdown of purchases by edition.

Importantly, Sensor Tower's numbers are estimates rather than official sales figures released by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. The reported $594 million represents estimated pre-order revenue, not confirmed profit.

The figures also do not establish whether GTA 6 has recovered its development and marketing costs, which have not been publicly confirmed.

With several weeks remaining before launch, the game's estimated pre-order performance provides an early indication of demand for one of the year's most anticipated releases.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
