GTA IV PS5 Native Port Brings 4K, 60 FPS and DualSense Support
Grand Theft Auto IV now runs natively on jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles through an unofficial port built from the Xbox 360 version using static recompilation.
Developer elripalda released GTA IV for PS5 version 1.0 on October 21, 2026, bringing Rockstar's 2008 open-world game and both Episodes from Liberty City expansions to modified PS5 hardware.
The project builds on OZORDI's Liberty Recompiled and vaduur's LibertyRecompAndroid, converting the original game's code into a form that can execute on the console without conventional Xbox 360 emulation.
According to the official GTA IV for PS5 GitHub release, the port supports native 4K resolution with a 60 FPS limit. Most areas reportedly maintain that target, although demanding city scenes can drop into the high 40s and 50s.
The port also supports 120Hz displays and variable refresh rate (VRR), alongside a separate 40 FPS mode. The 120Hz option does not mean the game runs at 120 FPS.
DualSense integration adds adaptive triggers, enhanced vibration, and a light bar that flashes police-style colors when the player is wanted. PlayStation button prompts replace the original Xbox controls.
A dedicated launcher provides access to GTA IV, The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Additional features include trophies, Xbox 360 save imports, graphics settings, and FusionFix visual enhancements.
The project requires a jailbroken PS5 and legally obtained game files from the US Xbox 360 release, including Title Update 8.
This is an unofficial community project, not an authorized Rockstar Games or Sony release.
