GTA IV PS5 Port Runs at 4K 60 FPS With AI-Assisted Code

Grand Theft Auto IV is now playable natively on jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles through an unofficial fan-made PS5 port, bringing Rockstar Games' 2008 open-world title to Sony's newer hardware with 4K resolution, improved controls, and additional features.

Developer Ruben Ripalda released version 1.0 on October 21, 2026, adapting OZORDI's Liberty Recompiled project, which converts the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV into native executable code rather than relying on traditional console emulation.

According to the developer's official GitHub repository, the port supports 4K resolution at up to 60 FPS, although performance can drop into the 40–50 FPS range in crowded areas of Liberty City.

The project also supports 120Hz displays, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and a separate 40 FPS mode. However, 120Hz support does not mean the game runs at 120 FPS.

Additional features include DualSense adaptive triggers, enhanced vibration, PlayStation button prompts, trophies, and the ability to import existing Xbox 360 save files.

Both GTA IV expansions, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, are supported through a dedicated game-selection menu.

The project builds on Liberty Recompiled and its Android adaptation, with AI-assisted development also appearing in the project's code history.

Players need a jailbroken PS5, their own compatible Xbox 360 game files, and approximately 17GB of available storage.

The port remains unofficial and is not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or Sony. Its release does not represent an official GTA IV remaster or PlayStation 5 version.
