Hellraiser: Revival Sales Impress Saber Interactive CEO
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival is performing exceptionally well on PC and consoles, according to Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch, who believes the horror game's early commercial success demonstrates why smaller, carefully budgeted productions deserve a bigger place in the industry.
Released on October 8, 2026, the first-person survival horror game embraces the graphic violence and disturbing imagery associated with the Hellraiser franchise rather than softening its content for a broader audience.
In an October 19 LinkedIn post, Karch praised the development team and said Hellraiser: Revival was performing extremely well across PC and console platforms.
He argued that established franchises combined with controlled AA development budgets can deliver strong player reception without the financial risks associated with increasingly expensive AAA productions.
Although Karch described the game's performance positively, Saber Interactive has not disclosed its sales figures, development budget, revenue, or profit margins.
Hellraiser: Revival has also attracted attention for its uncompromising mature content. Narrative director Antony De Fault previously explained that the team wanted the game to push boundaries far enough to face restrictions in at least some markets.
Clive Barker, who helped shape the game's story and world, has also praised Saber's approach after initially worrying that the adaptation might be heavily censored.
Karch described Hellraiser: Revival as the beginning of a broader series of releases intended to demonstrate Saber's development strategy, with more announcements expected in the coming weeks.
However, those comments do not confirm a Hellraiser sequel or downloadable expansion. For now, the studio is highlighting the game's reception as evidence that established horror franchises can support ambitious productions without requiring blockbuster-sized budgets.
