Hollow Knight Skins in Fortnite Cost More Than the Game Itself!
Fortnite's new Hollow Knight crossover has attracted attention because its cosmetic bundle costs more than either Hollow Knight or its sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong.
As part of this year's Halloween event, Epic Games has introduced a new collaboration featuring characters and items inspired by the popular games developed by Team Cherry.
However, the pricing of the crossover has sparked discussions among players about the cost of cosmetic content compared to complete games.
According to GamesRadar, the complete Hollow Knight crossover bundle costs 2,000 V-Bucks, equivalent to approximately $22.49 or £17.19.
By comparison, the original Hollow Knight is available on Steam for $14.99 (£12.79), meaning the Fortnite cosmetic bundle costs more than the complete game that inspired it.
The crossover collection includes three main items: a Knight character outfit, a Grub-themed backpack accessory, and the iconic Nail weapon as an in-game pickaxe.
Additional references to the Hollow Knight universe, including the familiar bench and Shade, are also part of the Halloween-themed content.
The collaboration arrives alongside Fortnite's Fortnitemares event, which also features characters such as Slender Man, Freddy Krueger, and Jason Voorhees.
The price difference becomes even more noticeable when compared with Hollow Knight: Silksong. The sequel, priced at $19.99, is also cheaper than the complete Fortnite crossover bundle.
While both Hollow Knight games offer complete gameplay experiences, the Fortnite bundle consists primarily of cosmetic items that allow players to customize their appearance and equipment.
The Hollow Knight crossover items are expected to remain available in the Fortnite Item Shop until October 15. Once they leave the store, it is unclear when they might return.
The collaboration has raised questions about the pricing of cosmetic items in free-to-play games, particularly when a collection of character appearances and accessories costs more than the games on which they are based.
