Horizon Forbidden West Gets FSR 4.1 Support on RX 6000 GPUs
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition can now benefit from AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 on compatible Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards, following the release of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1.
The October 20, 2026 driver update officially extends AMD's machine-learning-based upscaling technology to RDNA 2 graphics cards, including the Radeon RX 6600 and RX 6700 XT.
According to AMD's official driver release notes, Radeon RX 6000 owners can now access FSR Upscaling 4.1 without relying on unofficial modifications to enable the technology on previously unsupported hardware.
The update is particularly relevant to Horizon Forbidden West, a visually demanding open-world game that supports AMD's FidelityFX technologies.
Before official RX 6000 support arrived, some players experimented with third-party tools such as OptiScaler to access newer upscaling methods. These approaches could require additional configuration and did not provide the same officially supported driver integration.
AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 uses machine-learning techniques to reconstruct images from a lower internal rendering resolution, aiming to improve image quality while reducing rendering costs.
However, performance gains and visual improvements depend on the selected graphics settings, GPU, and game implementation. AMD has not published a verified head-to-head benchmark comparing FSR 4.1 with OptiScaler specifically in Horizon Forbidden West.
Players using supported Radeon graphics cards can check the latest driver and available upscaling options through AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.
