inFAMOUS First Light PC Port Runs at 45 FPS With Vulkan

An unofficial PC port of inFAMOUS First Light has reached a playable state, bringing the PlayStation 4 exclusive to Windows with Vulkan rendering, working save files, controller support, and functioning neon effects.

Developer VantageEX announced the project in October 2026, confirming that the first missions are playable and that the game can run without a conventional PlayStation 4 emulator interface.

According to the official inFAMOUS First Light PC Port GitHub repository, the project runs the game's original x86-64 code directly on a PC processor while replacing PlayStation 4 system libraries with a custom runtime. Graphics commands are translated through Vulkan.

The port builds on HayatoG's existing inFAMOUS Second Son PC project, with additional changes specifically developed for First Light.

Current functionality includes gameplay, save files, Xbox and PlayStation controllers, keyboard support, and Fetch's neon powers. The neon dash trail, lighting, and particle effects are also rendering.

VantageEX reports approximately 35–45 FPS at 1080p on a Ryzen-based system equipped with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER, using the project's default Vulkan renderer. The older rendering backend performs considerably slower, averaging around 15–25 FPS on the same configuration.

However, the port remains experimental. Initial shader compilation can take two to three minutes, while certain lighting effects still display visual glitches.

The developer has tested the European PlayStation 4 release, CUSA00897, version 1.00. Users must supply their own legally obtained game files, as the project does not distribute copyrighted game assets.

Neither Sony nor Sucker Punch Productions is involved in the unofficial development.
