inFAMOUS Second Son PC Emulator Runs at Up to 140 FPS

inFAMOUS Second Son is showing major progress on PC through a new unofficial shadPS4 emulator build, with its developer reporting frame rates reaching approximately 140 FPS alongside improved mouse controls and NVIDIA DLSS support.

The custom version, developed by community member AxylPup, focuses specifically on improving the PlayStation 4 exclusive rather than offering general performance upgrades for every game supported by shadPS4.

According to the developer's original Reddit announcement, the game runs at around 140 FPS in the open-world city and approximately 110 FPS in demanding rooftop scenes using an Intel Core i5-13600K and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

The build also introduces DLSS 4.5 upscaling for compatible NVIDIA RTX graphics cards, allowing players to upscale the game's original 1080p image to higher resolutions, including 1440p and 4K.

Keyboard and mouse improvements are another major addition, including support for mouse-based camera aiming.

The developer has also released version 1.0.2, addressing crashes affecting graphics cards with 8GB of VRAM, an initial loading freeze, and adding controller deadzone settings.

Players can find the latest changes and installation instructions through the original shadPS4 Second Son GitHub release.

This remains an unofficial community project, not an official PC release from Sony or Sucker Punch Productions. The emulator does not include the game itself, and users must provide their own legally obtained game files.

Performance will vary depending on hardware, graphics settings, and emulator compatibility.
