IShowSpeed Chooses PS5 for GTA 6 After Seeing Sony's Ad

Popular streamer IShowSpeed has revealed that he plans to play GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 after noticing Sony's promotional message in the game's latest launch trailer.

During his reaction to the GTA 6 trailer, IShowSpeed asked whether he should experience Rockstar Games' upcoming title on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Someone watching alongside him then pointed out the promotional slogan, “Plays Best on PS5,” prompting the streamer to reconsider his platform choice.

After reviewing the message, IShowSpeed said he would play GTA 6 on PS5, questioning why he should choose Xbox when the trailer promotes Sony's console as the preferred platform.

The moment highlights the potential influence of Sony's marketing partnership with Rockstar Games ahead of the game's November release.

In an official PlayStation Blog announcement, Sony explained that GTA 6 will take advantage of DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, Tempest 3D Audio, and the PS5's high-speed SSD.

Rockstar has also incorporated the PlayStation branding into its official GTA 6 website.

However, the advertising slogan does not establish that GTA 6 will deliver higher frame rates or better graphics on PS5 than on Xbox Series X|S. Neither company has published a detailed technical comparison between the console versions.

IShowSpeed's reaction offers one example of how the campaign may influence player preferences, although its wider impact on console sales remains unknown.

GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
