Konami Warns eFootball Modders Amid PES Reborn Project

Konami has issued an official warning against unauthorized modifications to eFootball, raising concerns among fans following the emergence of PES Reborn, an ambitious community project designed to restore features from the classic Pro Evolution Soccer series.

On October 23, the publisher released a statement confirming that it had identified reverse engineering activities and the distribution of modified versions of eFootball.

In its official announcement, Konami warned that copying, modifying, decompiling, or reverse engineering the game's software violates its Terms of Use.

The company also stated that developing or distributing unauthorized tools related to eFootball is prohibited, even when intended for personal use, testing, or research.

Players and developers found violating these restrictions could face penalties, including account suspension.

The warning comes amid growing interest in PES Reborn, an unofficial project associated with modder Durandil67 that aims to transform the PC version of eFootball into an experience closer to the original PES games.

Its proposed improvements include gameplay adjustments, redesigned menus, visual enhancements, camera changes, and the potential return of Master League, the popular single-player management mode.

However, Konami's announcement does not mention PES Reborn or its developer by name. The company has also not confirmed any legal proceedings against the project.

Reports suggest the developer has since announced plans to discontinue the initiative, although the original statement has not been independently verified.

For now, Konami's warning establishes a stricter public position against unauthorized eFootball modifications, while the future of PES Reborn and similar fan projects remains uncertain.
