Lords of the Fallen II to Improve Combat and Story

CI Games has shared new details about the development of Lords of the Fallen II, confirming that the upcoming action RPG will feature significant improvements to its combat system, gameplay balance, and storytelling.

The studio is focusing on addressing feedback from the previous game while refining several core mechanics for the sequel.

According to IXBT Games, the development team is working on more responsive combat, improved movement, and better balancing across different gameplay systems.

The mysterious Umbral realm is also receiving major adjustments. Developers aim to make its mechanics easier for newcomers to understand without removing the challenge expected from a Soulslike experience.

Alongside these changes, CI Games is improving the game's visuals and revising parts of its narrative to deliver a more consistent experience.

CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński also discussed the project's financial progress, revealing that negotiations with several banks for a new credit line are moving forward.

The company expects to finalize the necessary arrangements by the end of October, helping secure funding for the remaining development work and preparations for release.

Meanwhile, the closed beta test for Lords of the Fallen II has been postponed until January 2027, giving developers additional time to polish gameplay and address feedback.

Despite the delay, the studio continues to target a release during the first quarter of 2027.

CI Games also plans to resume its Lifting the Veil video series soon, offering players a closer look at the sequel's combat mechanics and other improvements.
