Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Emulation Reaches 20 FPS on PC

Marvel's Wolverine is showing early progress on PC through the unofficial KytyPS5 emulator, although performance remains far below what players would expect from a fully playable release.

A gameplay demonstration shared by YouTube creator Unreal Gaming PC in early October 2026 showed the PlayStation 5 game reaching approximately 20 FPS on a system equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card.

The footage demonstrated that the emulator could render gameplay rather than simply booting the title, representing progress for the experimental project.

However, frame rates varied considerably, and the game remained unsuitable for normal gameplay. Memory usage and other emulation limitations may also contribute to inconsistent performance.

The official KytyPS5 GitHub repository describes the emulator as an early-stage project focused on improving compatibility and boot reliability. Its developers warn that supported games may experience crashes, graphical glitches, and poor performance.

KytyPS5 uses a Vulkan-based graphics backend and continues to receive development work aimed at improving PlayStation 5 game compatibility on Windows and Linux.

Unlike an official PC port, this approach attempts to run the console version through an independent emulation project. It does not represent a Windows release of Marvel's Wolverine or support from Insomniac Games.

Although recent tests suggest that demanding PS5 titles are beginning to run through experimental emulators, substantial optimization is still required before they can deliver consistently playable performance.
