MediEvil PS4 PC Port Released With 4K and 120 FPS Support

MediEvil, the 2019 PlayStation 4 remake of Sony's classic action-adventure game, has received an unofficial PC port that supports 4K resolution and frame rates beyond the original console version.

The fan-made project allows Windows 10 and Windows 11 users to play through the game, including its cutscenes, menus, audio, and save system.

According to the developer's official MediEvil PC port GitHub repository, the project runs the game's original x86-64 code directly on PC processors while using a modified shadPS4 graphics system to translate PlayStation 4 rendering commands.

The port targets 60 FPS by default, with experimental options to increase the frame rate limit to 120 or 240 FPS. However, higher settings can introduce stuttering and require more powerful hardware.

The developer reports approximately 90 to 120 FPS during gameplay on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, although performance varies between areas.

Players can also select resolutions up to 4K, enable temporal upscaling, and adjust graphics quality through several presets, including High and Ultra.

Additional features include support for DualSense and Xbox controllers, customizable keyboard controls, multiple languages, and automatic save backups.

A dedicated launcher provides access to performance settings, game installation, updates, mods, and troubleshooting tools.

Unlike traditional PS4 emulation, the project runs the game's CPU code natively while translating its graphics through Vulkan.

The port is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or the original developers, and it does not include copyrighted game assets. Players must supply files from their own copy of MediEvil.

The project is available through GitHub, with further improvements planned for performance and compatibility.
