Metal Gear Series Reaches 67.7 Million Worldwide Sales
Konami has updated the lifetime sales figures for its Metal Gear franchise, revealing that the series reached 67.7 million units worldwide as of September 30, 2026.
The latest figure represents an increase of 1.3 million from the 66.4 million reported at the end of June, equivalent to approximately 2% growth over the three-month period.
The figures appear on Konami's official Digital Entertainment business page, which tracks cumulative performance across the company's major gaming franchises.
Konami's reporting also includes participation through subscription services, meaning the cumulative total should not be interpreted strictly as individual retail purchases or unique players.
The increase follows the August 27 release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
The collection introduced Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to modern platforms for the first time, alongside Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the bonus title Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
Another recent release, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, arrived in August 2025 as a remake of the 2004 stealth-action game.
However, Konami has not disclosed how much each individual title contributed to the latest quarterly increase. The impact of Master Collection Vol. 2 therefore cannot be separated from sales of other Metal Gear releases.
Originally launched in July 1987, Metal Gear has remained one of Konami's longest-running franchises, with the latest figures reflecting continued activity across both classic releases and modern adaptations.
