Metro 2039 Developers Deny Leaked PC System Requirements
The developers of Metro 2039 have clarified that the unusually demanding PC system requirements recently published online are incorrect, following concerns among players about the game's hardware demands.
The specifications appeared on the Epic Games Store shortly after pre-orders opened for the upcoming first-person shooter from 4A Games and Deep Silver.
The listing suggested that players would need an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and either an Intel Core i9-14900KS or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor for the recommended configuration.
The minimum requirements were also demanding, listing an RTX 3060, 16GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i5-14600K or Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor.
According to 3DM Game, the development team responded to the concerns by confirming that the specifications had been uploaded incorrectly.
The developers explained that the information was being corrected and that the actual PC requirements would be announced closer to launch, as development and optimization continue.
Although the original listing also mentioned 135GB of storage, none of the published specifications should currently be treated as final.
Some players speculated that the demanding hardware might reflect internal testing configurations or advanced graphics settings, but the developers have not confirmed those explanations.
Metro 2039 is scheduled for release on February 4, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Pre-orders are already available, while PC players will need to wait for the official hardware requirements before determining whether their systems can run the game.
