Minecraft Pre-Orders for Nintendo Switch 2 Have Begun

Mojang Studios has officially announced the release date and pre-order availability of Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2.

The studio is preparing to expand the availability of its popular game with a dedicated version for Nintendo's latest console. According to the announcement, Minecraft Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is scheduled to launch on October 27, 2026.

According to Instant Gaming News, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 version have already begun on the Nintendo eShop, with the game priced at €29.99.

Players who already own the digital version of Minecraft on the original Nintendo Switch will be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 edition without paying an additional fee.

The free upgrade offer for existing owners will reportedly remain available until February 11, 2027, giving eligible players a limited period to access the new version at no extra cost.

Alongside the digital release, a physical edition of Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2 will also be available. However, the physical package will contain a game download code rather than a traditional game cartridge.

The upcoming release will give Nintendo Switch 2 owners another way to experience Minecraft on the new console.
