Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Server Crashes Cause Players to Lose Loot

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 players are reporting server crashes and connection problems in DMZ Early Access, with some losing valuable loot collected during matches before they can successfully extract.

Infinity Ward opened early access to the extraction mode on October 20, 2026, ahead of the game's full launch on October 23. The mode allows players to explore Hajin, complete missions, collect equipment, and extract with their rewards.

However, several players have reported unexpected disconnections that interrupt matches and prevent them from keeping newly collected items.

In a Reddit discussion posted on October 21, players described repeated lobby crashes, including incidents that occurred after defeating enemy operators carrying valuable equipment.

Other players reported being returned to the main menu with connection errors, sometimes before they could successfully enter a match.

The problem is particularly frustrating because extraction is central to DMZ's progression system. Players must successfully leave the map to secure certain resources and equipment collected during a deployment.

According to the official Modern Warfare 4 DMZ guide, the mode features persistent progression, operator recovery mechanics, and equipment management through the Forward Operating Base.

Infinity Ward has already addressed several crashes and stability problems in its October 20 early access patch, alongside other mission and progression issues.

Nevertheless, player reports published on October 21 suggest that some connection problems remain.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches in full on October 23 for PC and supported consoles, giving the development team a short window to address remaining DMZ stability concerns before release.
