Mortal Kombat 9 Browser Port Adds Online Multiplayer

Mortal Kombat 9 has received an unofficial browser-based adaptation that aims to bring the 2011 fighting game to modern web browsers, including the ability to challenge another player online.

The project, presented as Mortal Kombardo 9, was created by a developer known as Lauta. Its dedicated website provides a browser game interface alongside chat functionality and links to the creator's social accounts.

The original Mortal Kombat 9 browser project is publicly accessible, although its presence online does not establish that every game mode or feature works reliably across supported devices.

In the developer's announcement, the browser version is described as supporting online matches between friends. The developer also reports that menus are capped at 30 FPS, while fights are intended to operate at 60 FPS.

Those figures describe the project's target behavior rather than independently verified performance. Frame rates and responsiveness may vary depending on browser compatibility, hardware, and the current state of development.

The release remains experimental, with the creator inviting players to report bugs and errors for future fixes.

The project is particularly notable because Mortal Kombat 9 already received an official Windows release in 2013. This new effort instead focuses on making the game accessible through a web browser, rather than producing its first-ever PC version.

Technical details about the browser runtime, graphics rendering, and multiplayer networking have not yet been independently confirmed.

Mortal Kombardo 9 is an unofficial fan project and should not be confused with an official release from NetherRealm Studios or Warner Bros. Games.
