Mortal Shell 2 Rotten Autumn Update Adds 15 New Dungeons

Mortal Shell 2 has received a major free update called Rotten Autumn, introducing 15 new dungeons, Photo Mode, additional equipment, and seasonal content across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Developer Cold Symmetry released the update on October 20, 2026, expanding the action RPG with new challenges and several features requested by players.

According to the official Rotten Autumn update announcement on Steam, the update includes 15 additional dungeons, giving players more locations to explore and challenges to overcome.

The update also introduces 10 new Tarstones, including a sheep-specific addition, alongside new Shell Shades that offer alternative appearances for each playable Shell.

Photo Mode is another major addition, allowing players to capture screenshots during their adventures. The developers have also introduced new lighting presets for Nightmode and an Overkill Graphics setting.

Rotten Autumn brings a new alternative soundtrack created by Sakis Tolis, known for his work with the metal band Rotting Christ.

Players can also unlock or discover seasonal cosmetics, including the Harbinger Pumpkin Helmet and the Impervious Lute skin, which comes with additional musical tracks.

Another unusual addition involves the ghost of a lost Shell, which appears throughout the game world and leaves mysterious notes for players to discover.

Beyond the new content, Cold Symmetry has implemented additional polish and bug fixes intended to improve the overall experience.

The developers confirmed the update's availability through an official announcement on the Mortal Shell subreddit, highlighting the new customization options, dungeons, and soundtrack.

Mortal Shell 2 originally launched in August 2026, expanding the original game's combat and exploration systems with a larger interconnected world.

The Rotten Autumn update is available now at no additional cost for existing owners on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
