Next Battlefield Game Reportedly in Early Development

Next Battlefield Game Reportedly in Early Development

The next Battlefield game is reportedly in the early stages of development, with Electronic Arts preparing another installment of its military shooter franchise following Battlefield 6.

According to a new report from industry insider Tom Henderson, the upcoming Battlefield title has entered early development but is not expected to launch anytime soon.

In his original report published by Insider Gaming, Henderson suggests that late 2028 could be the earliest realistic release window for the next game.

However, he explicitly describes this timeframe as speculation rather than an official release target from Electronic Arts.

The report arrives alongside major restructuring announcements at EA, including plans for DICE and Respawn Entertainment to collaborate on an unannounced shooter project.

While the collaboration has generated speculation about Star Wars Battlefront 3, EA has separately confirmed that the Battlefield franchise will continue.

In its official October 21 announcement, Electronic Arts identified future Battlefield games as part of its long-term shooter strategy.

The company also highlighted the success of Battlefield 6 and the experience gained from supporting its multiplayer community.

Despite the new development report, EA has not revealed the next Battlefield game's official title, setting, platforms, or gameplay features.

It also remains unclear which studios will lead the project and whether the next installment will continue the direction established by Battlefield 6.

For now, the reported early development status suggests that Battlefield 6 will remain an important part of EA's shooter portfolio while work on its successor progresses.
