Phasmophobia Has Sold Over 30 Million Copies Worldwide
Phasmophobia has officially surpassed 30 million copies sold worldwide across PC and consoles, marking another major milestone for the cooperative horror game developed by Kinetic Games.
The achievement was announced on October 8, 2026, alongside the return of the game's annual Halloween event, Crimson Eye, which runs until November 1.
Since entering Early Access in September 2020, Phasmophobia has grown from a small independent project into one of the most successful cooperative horror games, attracting millions of players across multiple platforms.
According to Kinetic Games' official announcement, studio CEO and game director Daniel Knight originally hoped to sell just 1,000 copies during the game's first year. Reaching 30 million sales has far exceeded those initial expectations.
The Crimson Eye event introduces Blood Moon weather across selected maps, increasing ghost movement speed and accelerating sanity loss. Players who complete investigations under these conditions can earn additional rewards.
The event also features personal and community challenges, including exclusive cosmetic items and seasonal trophies.
From October 15 to October 22, players will receive double experience points and rewards. The Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts charity event will also return between October 26 and November 1 in partnership with the American Heart Association.
Kinetic Games has continued improving Phasmophobia with new locations, ghost types, character customization options, and gameplay updates throughout its Early Access period.
The studio previously confirmed that the full 1.0 release is now planned for the second half of 2027, allowing additional time for development and improvements.
Phasmophobia is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X|S.
