POSTAL 1 Android APK Returns With Modern Device Support
Running With Scissors has announced the re-release of the original POSTAL for Android, saying its APK has been updated to work with newer Android versions and modern smartphones.
The announcement brings renewed attention to the controversial 1997 isometric shooter, which originally reached Android in 2015 but later encountered compatibility problems on newer devices.
The studio says the updated package retains the original game's content while addressing compatibility with current Android hardware. However, it has not provided a detailed changelog, a list of supported Android versions, or independently verified device compatibility results.
POSTAL follows the Postal Dude through a series of increasingly violent encounters, combining top-down shooting with the dark tone that established the long-running franchise.
The existing Android edition includes the original campaign, Special Delivery expansion content, bonus challenge stages, and alternative control options. Its official product description also lists local-network multiplayer features.
The game remains available through the official Running With Scissors store, where the Android edition is listed for $1.
One important detail remains unresolved: the store page still displays an older warning stating that the Android package has not been updated since 2015 and may not work on newer phones. That notice conflicts with the studio's latest announcement and may not yet reflect the re-release.
Running With Scissors has not confirmed which specific Android versions or devices are supported by the refreshed APK.
For now, the announcement marks a potential return for POSTAL on modern Android devices, with broader compatibility awaiting confirmation.
