ProsperoEden Could Bring Switch 2 Game Support to PS5
ProsperoEden, an unofficial Nintendo Switch emulator developed for jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles, has become the subject of new reports suggesting that Nintendo Switch 2 game compatibility could arrive in a future update.
The open-source project, developed by BlackBearReloaded, adapts the Eden emulator to run directly on compatible PS5 hardware without requiring a separate Linux installation.
According to the official ProsperoEden GitHub repository, the emulator already supports essential functionality such as video output, audio, DualSense controller input, and game saves.
Recent versions have also introduced Vulkan rendering through PS5-specific Mesa graphics drivers, alongside the existing OpenGL option.
The project remains experimental, with performance and compatibility varying significantly between Nintendo Switch games. Some titles can run at playable speeds, while others experience crashes, graphical problems, or extended loading times.
A new report shared by ONE Jailbreak claims that support for Nintendo Switch 2 games is planned for an upcoming ProsperoEden update.
However, the project's publicly available documentation does not currently confirm a Switch 2 compatibility release, supported games, or a development schedule.
Running original Nintendo Switch games through Eden does not automatically establish compatibility with Switch 2 software, which presents additional hardware and system requirements.
ProsperoEden also requires a PS5 capable of running homebrew applications and does not include commercial games, Nintendo firmware, or encryption keys.
For now, Switch 2 support should be treated as an unconfirmed future development rather than an available emulator feature.
