PS5 Backport GUI 0.3.4 Adds PS5 Pro Build and PSSR Support
PS5 Backport GUI has received a new experimental update, version 0.3.4-test2, introducing a dedicated PS5 Pro build option and a library-switching feature designed to address compatibility problems in certain games.
Developer Deckerr97 published the testing build on October 26, 2026, expanding the tool's ability to prepare PS5 game backports for different firmware versions and console models.
According to the official GitHub release notes, the new PS5 Pro Build option generates a separate package for supported games, targeting PS5 Pro consoles running firmware 9.00 or later.
The feature adjusts how compatible games identify the console model, potentially exposing Pro-specific graphics settings. Games that use PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) also receive a corresponding library configuration.
However, the developer has not yet tested this build on an actual PS5 Pro. Its ability to activate enhanced graphics modes and PSSR remains unconfirmed on console hardware.
Another addition allows users to switch AMPR and PlayGo compatibility libraries. The feature targets launch failures reported with Dave the Diver and Hollow Knight, using alternative libraries to address specific compatibility issues.
Version 0.3.4-test2 also retains the earlier 0.3.3 fixes, including improvements affecting Jurassic World Evolution 3, MARVEL Tōkon, drag-and-drop crashes, and compatibility with files processed by other tools.
The developer confirmed that testing has been completed offline and on a Windows PC, while additional console feedback is still required.
PS5 Backport GUI remains experimental software for modified consoles. Successful processing does not guarantee that a game will launch or function correctly.
