PS5 Firmware 13.60 Native FPKG Support Reportedly Nears Release

Native PS5 FPKG support for firmware 13.60 could be approaching a public release, according to new community claims surrounding a privately tested A53-based method.

Although PS5 firmware 13.60 is already publicly jailbreakable through the Relapse exploit, native PS5 fake-package support remains unavailable to general users on this firmware.

Current public FPKG-enabling patches support firmware up to 11.60, leaving users on newer versions dependent on alternative methods for launching compatible game backups.

According to the PS5Upload project's technical documentation, PS5 fake packages may install on firmware 13.60 but cannot launch natively without the necessary kernel patches.

Community reports claim that a private A53-based method has been tested on firmware 12.00, 12.40, and 13.60. However, the original developer demonstration and a confirmed public release schedule have not been independently verified.

The reports also suggest that Sony addressed the underlying vulnerability in firmware 14.20, although the exact technical relationship remains unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, alternative formats already provide working options on firmware 13.60.

The PS Neighborhood project documents converting compatible PS5 packages into filesystem images that can run through ShadowMount-based workflows.

Native FPKG support would represent a different milestone, potentially allowing more conventional package installation, game updates, DLC integration, and home-screen functionality.

For now, those improvements remain expectations rather than confirmed features of a publicly released tool.

Firmware 13.60 users can already access several homebrew capabilities, but the reported native FPKG breakthrough remains unconfirmed until developers publish working code or a reproducible demonstration.
