PS5 Firmware 14.10 Jailbreak Progresses With New Kernel Exploit

A new PlayStation 5 security breakthrough has emerged after developer Gezine demonstrated access to the console's debug settings while running firmware version 14.10.

On October 19, 2026, Gezine shared a short video on X with the message “Hello 14.10,” showing the normally restricted debug menu on a retail PS5.

The demonstration suggests that newer firmware versions may still be vulnerable to exploitation, despite Sony's recent security updates.

According to information attributed to the developer, the kernel exploit previously used on firmware 13.xx was patched with version 14.00. The newly demonstrated method is reportedly different and is not related to the Relapse exploit associated with Nathan Fargo and Sonic ISO.

However, the development does not mean that a complete PS5 firmware 14.10 jailbreak is publicly available.

Gezine has not released the exploit, and no public instructions or tools have been provided for reproducing the demonstration.

Another significant obstacle involves accessing game executable files. The methods previously used to extract these files reportedly no longer work on firmware 14.xx, potentially requiring additional progress against the console's hypervisor security protections.

The demonstration has attracted attention from the PlayStation homebrew community, particularly as researchers continue investigating vulnerabilities affecting newer PS5 system software.

Gezine has previously contributed to PlayStation security research, including the BD-JB5 project on GitHub, which documents a Blu-ray-based sandbox escape for older firmware versions.

For now, the latest demonstration represents a promising technical development rather than a confirmed public jailbreak release.

Further research and additional security breakthroughs may be necessary before firmware 14.10 can support a complete, publicly accessible jailbreak.
