PS5 Y2JB Relapse Update Adds Automatic Jailbreak Loading
A new modification of the PS5 Y2JB exploit has been released by developer notmaj0r, introducing automated Relapse execution and additional startup options for supported jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles.
Published on October 27, 2026, the update builds on Gezine's existing Y2JB project, which uses the PlayStation 5's YouTube application as an entry point for homebrew-related exploit execution.
According to the developer's original GitHub release, the modification provides four alternative builds, each designed around the Relapse kernel exploit.
The manual build preserves the original Y2JB workflow, allowing a payload to be supplied separately. The automatic variant runs Relapse without that additional manual step and closes the YouTube application when execution finishes.
Two further variants extend this automation by launching either Prospero Manager v1.1 or Payload Manager v0.6.3 after YouTube closes, providing different post-execution environments.
These changes focus on reducing manual interaction during the startup process rather than introducing a completely new PS5 vulnerability.
Early community reactions have highlighted improved responsiveness and faster execution. However, the release notes contain no standardized timing benchmarks, independently verified success rates, or measured performance comparisons against earlier builds.
Compatibility remains dependent on the console's firmware, the underlying Relapse exploit, and the selected Y2JB environment. The modification should not be interpreted as universal jailbreak support across all PS5 firmware versions.
Y2JB Relapse remains an unofficial homebrew development project, with no affiliation or endorsement from Sony.
