Rayman Legends Retold Adds PS5-Exclusive Astro Bot Costume

Ubisoft and Sony have announced an Astro Bot crossover for Rayman Legends Retold, bringing an exclusive costume inspired by PlayStation's platforming mascot to the upcoming remake.

The outfit will be available only on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro when Rayman Legends Retold launches on December 3, 2026. Players can unlock it for free during their first visit to Victor Velour's costume shop.

The collaboration was revealed on October 28 through an official PlayStation Blog announcement, featuring comments from developers at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan.

Team Asobi, the PlayStation studio behind Astro Bot, also participated in creating the costume.

Lead Character Artist Quentin Chaillet explained that the developers needed to adapt Astro Bot's futuristic appearance without losing Rayman's distinctive silhouette.

The design combines Astro Bot's metallic surfaces, glowing blue accents, and white body panels with Rayman's oversized shoes and recognizable proportions.

The crossover follows Rayman's appearance as a collectible character in Astro Bot, released for PlayStation 5 in 2024. The new costume reverses that earlier collaboration by bringing Astro Bot's appearance into Rayman's world.

Rayman Legends Retold is an official Ubisoft reimagining of the 2013 platformer, featuring updated 3D visuals, a revised storyline, additional musical stages, and local cooperative gameplay for up to four players.

The game is also scheduled for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, although the Astro Bot costume has only been announced for PlayStation consoles.

Ubisoft has not announced plans to release the outfit on other platforms.
