Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Adds Shadow of Mordor Nemesis System
A new Red Dead Redemption 2 mod introduces a Nemesis-style system inspired by Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, allowing NPCs to remember players, develop personal grudges, and return for revenge.
The modification, called enRage – Living World and Nemesis System, was created by modder nicklovin99 and released in early access for PC on October 17, 2026.
According to the developer's official Nexus Mods page, the project aims to transform Red Dead Redemption 2's open world by giving ordinary NPCs persistent identities, personalities, and memories.
Characters can have unique names, occupations, family backgrounds, and personality traits that influence how they respond to the player.
Actions such as insulting, robbing, or attacking someone can increase their resentment. Over time, certain characters may become personal rivals and confront the player during future encounters.
Positive interactions can also influence relationships, allowing NPCs to develop different attitudes toward Arthur Morgan.
Beyond individual encounters, enRage introduces eight competing factions, including the O'Driscoll Boys, Lemoyne Raiders, and Skinner Brothers.
These groups feature leadership structures and can engage in conflicts independently, creating changing situations throughout the open world.
The system takes inspiration from the Nemesis mechanic introduced in Monolith Productions' Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, where enemies remember previous encounters and develop rivalries with the player.
The developer also used Claude Code to assist with scripting and system development.
However, enRage remains an experimental early-access mod, meaning some features may require further improvements and compatibility fixes.
The modification is available for Red Dead Redemption 2's PC story mode and requires ScriptHookRDR2 and ScriptHookRDR2DotNet V2.
Rockstar Games has not officially endorsed or developed the project.
